Akasia athletes found a new home northwest of Pretoria when they changed their name from Onderstepoort Striders to Akasia Atletic Klub.
We are a small running klub of about 65 members known by our blue running shorts with white and green tops branded with the blue Akasia emblem.
We are all about running and host annually two races:
This race is run by young and old from Wonderpark shopping centre in Karenpark, Akasia, Pretoria.
This circuit race is well known in running circles for its great spirit amongst participants and takes place on the premises of Gerrit Maritz High School in Pretoria North. It also forms part of a charity inititiative for the not so fortunate in the community.
Come join the Akasia family and really start to enjoy running.

Our time trail (4 or 8km) takes place every Tuesday from parking area of Woolworths Ninapark, cnr Rachel de Beer & Grafenheim St, Ninapark, Pretoria.

Apart from time trials we have regular social events to just get together and relax.
There are designated races during the year where we park the trailer at the finish of an race where you can leave your togbag and aftewards have a drink and n snack.
Club Weekend
The annual club weekend is a highlight where we make a group reservation at a resort near a popular road race just to relax and get to know our club members.
The club weekend will be on the weekend of TBA.
Saturday evening we braai together and after communial breakfast on Sunday morning, we head home.
